But you know what's even better than retail therapy? When you go retail therapy and you get the most bang for your buck! I've been known to get some pretty good bargains before -- a $198 silk cocktail dress from Banana Republic for $22 (it still hangs in my closet -- just waiting for that perfect occasion to wear it), a pair of $98 shoes from DSW for $20, a 100% cashmere sweater for $35 on Black Friday (yes I am one of those people who gets up at 3 a.m. to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving). You get the point. I'm a bargain retail therapy shopper.
But you know what can be not-so-awesome about bargain retail therapy shopping? When you realize you could have saved even more had you had a coupon with you. I don't care what people say - but an additional 15% off is an additional 15%. Every single penny counts. Especially when you're in grad school with a limited income. But luckily, I recently discovered the Retail Me Not app, which lets you save even more by having quick access to thousands of coupons to save more at the stores you shop at. And with Black Friday being this week, there's more potential to save more so you can shop more.
